I will be soaking in waves this week-end. The ocean is a great place to remember the creativity of our God. The amazing way the waves come rolling in..over and over again. The sound is soothing and the beauty of the water is never-failing. Visiting the ocean is good for the soul. It helps put things in perspective. Only God could have dreamed up such a beautiful place..Why did He create the ocean?  For many reasons.. one that comes to mind is quite simple..for our pleasure.

Yes..He cares about our pleasure. There is no other explanation for the incredible variety of flowers, birds, plants and trees..breathtaking views..blue skies and puffy white clouds..sunrises..sunsets..lush green meadows..mountain tops capped with snow..streams flowing over rocks..butterflies..ladybugs..Should I continue? Add to this list all of your favorite things.

Our God is the creator..He created us and He created all the beauty that surrounds us because He knows what we enjoy and what will lift our spirits. None of this is accidental. All of this beauty is intentional..we need it and we are restored by viewing it and being close to it. God always knew that there would be trials and tests here for us. He always knew how hard it would be to persevere. He never forgot for a moment that we would need beauty, rest, peace, and restoration when He created us and the world.

Embrace those things that surround you..Enjoy the beauty and take it personal..something  just for you..an amazing gift from the God who loves you extravagantly and would do anything for you.

“Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths…How precious is your unfailing love, O God!”
