Christmas and New Years are just around the corner. This is a very action packed time of year for many people..I can only imagine how full the malls are this weekend and how many of us will be out in force to catch the after Christmas sales. Then New Years eve and New Years day and finally 2013. I can hardly believe it. A brand new year already?
For some reason I am always surprised to see the present year ending.. didn’t it just start? Wasn’t it just January 2012 a few minutes ago? It must be my age..or the busyness of our culture. We are all moving so fast..trying to accomplish so much..making sure that we don’t miss anything.
I don’t want to miss today.. I want to live fully in this present day..today Saturday December 22, 2012. This day will never come again..it is a gift and I want to savor.. to make it last..enjoy it..appreciate it.. Thank God for it. Life is a gift and we become more aware of this when tragedy strikes. Last week lives of children were taken, and because of that horrendous act.. we were all reminded that life is fragile and fleeting.
As we celebrate the life of Jesus and His entrance into the world, let’s celebrate by cherishing our lives..living fully and being willing to grieve the loss of the innocent. God is with us in this time and He holds in His arms those precious children that He created. He is the redeemer and He came to make all things right. We are safe in Him
“Look! The virgin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel, which means ‘God is with us.'”
Lovely post Alicia. Have a peaceful and Happy Christmas and New Year.
Thanks Tim.. I wish you the same!
