A Wild Ride

There is something about this life we live with God that reminds me of a wild ride. Wild in the sense of unpredictable. We are traveling along with Him not knowing when the road will suddenly move in a new direction. Our natural instincts are to second guess the next step or to peer into the future trying to see what is ahead. None of that works with Him. He leads us down crooked roads with little or no warning when it comes to a change in direction.

The key is He leads us. He is in front of us. We are moving forward with Him. He knows this road that intimidates us or scares us. His intention is to take us where we have never been. To forge a path for our lives that is uniquely ours. Each step is ours alone. We are dependent on Him to guide us since He is the only one who truly knows the way.

This means that we cannot get our guidance from people. We can ask them what they think..that can be dangerous. We can look for answers in other people’s stories..but ultimately our journey is our journey. God’s plan for our lives is unfolding in a way that is best for us..no one else. That does not mean that He won’t use others to confirm or encourage. It does mean that His voice is the one that we are listening for. He is intimately involved in every detail..He is with you in each and every situtation..even when you feel totally alone.

So..buckle that seat belt. Remember that all the surprises are not surprising to Him. Trust Him in the dark. Find a quiet place and listen. Take risks. He has good things for you..His love for you overflows and He will catch you when you fall. He is with you!

“For I am about to do something new. See I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.”
