Time to let go again..

yes..it is that time. The year is ending and we can only approach the new one with hope if we let go of those things that weigh on us. Unfulfilled desires..broken relationships..disappointment..anger..unresolved grief..anything that oppresses us emotionally or spiritually. How do we do this? By examining our hearts. What are we carrying around that we can leave behind. Letting God bring to the surface those things that we don’t want to carry into 2011.

He is the healer. That means He can take these weights off of us..restore us..renew us and refresh us. We only need to cooperate with this process. To bring it all before Him..all those crushing experiences and all our failures..asking Him to heal our wounds and prepare us for a better future.  He is the God of Hope. His plan is to bring us into freedom. That does not mean there will not be challenges.. of course there will be..  He is aware of them..He is in them with us..He sees.. He knows.. He continually saves and rescues us even when we doubt that He exists.

Remember your God.. not as small and distant.. but as close as anyone can get to you. He will make all things new.. He loves you with an everlasting love.

“And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.”

  1. Hi Alicia,
What a wonderful reminder of the fact that He is the healer, not far, but near; continually with us, closer than we can ever imagine; always working for our good and the good of others; always loving no matter what we think or do.
God has spoken to me so much through your writing this year, and I’m thankful to Him that you “found” my blog:)
I hope you have a blessed 2011, in which you grow ever closer to this amazing God we both write about.
Have a wonderful birthday tomorrow. He saw you before you were born, forming you just the way you are, and I’m sure that God will be celebrating your birth right along with you.
By the way, I love the photo of the butterfly cookie, so cute:)
    Many blessings,
    Sarah

  2. Thank you Sarah.. I am very glad that God brought us together online.. I look forward to your blog posts and feel like we are kindred spirits. I wish the same for you in the coming year.

The cookie was decorated by one of my granddaughters 🙂
