2010..that is. It is hard to believe that we are coming to the end of another year and to the end of a decade. A turning point. God is working with us right now to prepare us for the new season that lies ahead. He is tying up loose ends. Finishing things. As the year is coming to a close He is completing things that He started. All we need to do is stop and spend some time with Him to discover what He is up to in our individual lives. I find it helpful to remember where I was at the end of 2009. What were my expectations for this year? How has it been different from what I imagined?
All of this reflecting is a great reminder that we are in the greater story that God is unfolding and not in our own stories that we dream up in our imagination. Does that lead to disappointment for you? Things that you hoped for at the beginning of the year have not happened..what do you do with that? Begin looking at what God has been doing and ask yourself if you have been cooperating with His plan for your life. Start looking at the new year as an opportunity for growth and movement. The past cannot be changed. We need to look back but only so we can live more fully in the present and anticipate an exciting future.
Ar you ready for the new season? Do you want to go deeper with Him..to receive more from Him? Is your life on hold because you are afraid? Are you holding on to your life and living it in a small way because you don’t want to move out of your comfort zone? Tell God and ask Him to take you to a new place..to open new doors for you..to give you courage and faith. Seek Him and allow Him to speak to you. Don’t be afraid. Don’t shrink back. A new door is opening into the future and He has great things for you.
End this year with a desire to live more fully for Him and He will make that real. Leave your disappointments with Him and ask him to renew your hope. Trust Him.. He is with you.
“But forget all that–it is nothing compare to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness… I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.”
