I was out walking this morning..thinking about God and all the complexities of life. I enjoy walking and praying through the issues that I am facing. It is easier to focus when I am outside enjoying creation and free from the phone and computer. The concept of God as our sufficiency kept coming to mind.. our all in all. We sing about this in worship..telling God that He is enough. We remind one another of this when we face trials. Yet the truth is we often live as though this is not true.
We try to solve our own problems..write our own story..direct our own steps..fix other people and control our destiny by preparing for the future. None of this really works. All of it sounds good and seems right at the time..but in reality we can’t do any of these things. Our hope is in Him..for everything..even those things we decide He is not interested in..even the small stuff. God is intimately involved with us. He knows our struggles and He feels our pain. He is close to us..so close that we forget all we have to do is turn to Him and ask.
He wants to meet us in our present struggle..to comfort us and strengthen us. As we look back our lives we can see how over and over again He was with us..we made it..we didn’t die..we are here. He saved us..He rescued us..He gave us everything we needed to make it through. He will continue to do that throughout our lives..at all times in all seasons..He is our sufficiency.
” Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.”
AMEN!!! XOXO

Thanks Sarah..nothing else makes sense..in our confusing world.
Great blog! It is so true, that all we need is in Him. When our trials come at us like rapid fire, we sometimes forget to cast all of our cares on Him, because He careth for us. We forget that His grace is sufficient for us, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness. Thank you for the reminder! God bless you!
Thanks.. So glad you stopped by. We need Him every minute don’t we?
