What really matters in a world like this. A world that does not resemble the world many of us remember from our childhood. In this world technological advances have impacted everything. Social networking, as new as it is,..dominates the lives of many people. It is possible to make contact with people all over the world in a matter of seconds. New relationships spring up online..old relationships are renewed in an instant. Time and distance are becoming archaic concepts.
How do we navigate a world like this? What do we hold on to when everything is changing so rapidly? How do we find stability when our circumstances are so unpredictable? It is a constant challenge to find our balance with all the pressures of our daily lives becoming unmanageable. We need a place to rest. A place where we can just stop and relax. A safe place.
Our God promises to provide this place for us. He is our refuge in these times. He waits for us to decide to fall into His arms and confess that we can’t do it all. He longs to comfort us..to fill us with encouragment..to hold us while we cry. Our willingness to move closer to Him is the key. Are we running from Him? Are we self-medicating through activity? He pursues us but never forces us. His desire is to embrace us and to soothe us..to renew us and to revive us..to fill us and to heal us.
We need Him more than ever in a world like this.
“And I am convinced that nothing can separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today or our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
