Behind the scenes..

He is working. Once again it is time to remember that while we are waiting God is working. We are always waiting for something and it helps to be reminded that He is not only aware of this..He is working behind the scenes for us. Living in an instant culture where you can get what you want anytime you want it does not help. We are losing the ability to believe that things take time. We are failing to understand that God is not subject to the ways of this world. He does not live by our rules or priorities.

His ways are His ways and they are better than ours. So..what do we do while we wait? We trust Him and we let go of trying to make anything happen. This is one of the most difficult challenges we have as believers. Letting go of our own ideas and timetables. Really letting go implies releasing all of it to God..giving it to Him..realizing that we are dependant upon Him.

This goes against the grain of our independent nature..we want to do something..anything..just don’t say we have to wait and wait and wait. It is very difficult, tiring, and draining to have your hands tied while you wait. The thing that helps me the most is to realize that there are things happening behind the scenes..God is at work.. He has not forgotten. We want to see what He is doing but we can’t. We can trust that He is faithful to do everything that needs to be done so that our prayers will be answered.

Our faith is stretched while we wait..it feels like we are going to fall apart..our hearts hurt..our spirits sag..we grieve as time passes by. God knows this.. He will not wait too long. He is for you and with you and His plan is unfolding even when it is invisible. Take your weary heart to Him today and ask for hope and faith to continue. Remind yourself of His faithfulness.

“I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken…Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.”
