Puzzle Pieces

Lately I have been seeing life as a puzzle. When you open a box with puzzle pieces and dump them out..there is no clear picture of what these pieces will look like when the puzzle is finished. Of course you can look at the picture on the box lid and everything is clear. Don’t you wish life was like that? Whenever it seemed confusing as to what was happening we could just go back to the picture on the box. Wow! What a relief that would be. No more guessing about how everything is going to look in the end. No more wondering..what is this piece anyway? You would know that every green piece is part of the lawn and every blue piece fits in the sky.

Our lives are nothing like that. We may be living in a scene of our lives that will connect with a scene 5 or 10 years from now. You may be staring at a piece of your life that is colored pink wondering where in the world that is supposed to fit. You may be thinking that this is all a mistake.. we don’t need this piece..it is too hard..too long..too depressing..too much. We have the pieces and we must live with a partially finished picture. God gives us life a piece at a time..a scene at a time.. a season at a time. The larger picture of why we are here and where we are going is not ours to see. He is the only one who knows what the finished life will look like.

One thing is certain..there is a big picture. The box lid does exist in the hands of our Amazing Father. He has made sure every piece fits together with every other piece and that in the end the finished work will be a work of art. Your life will come together into something that you could never design yourself. Something that only He could orchestrate. It is not random or meaningless. He is at work making something beautiful out of the pieces of your life. Your part is to trust.. to live fully in the present..pray..follow..enjoy..keep the faith..believe!

“Show me the right path, O Lord; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.”

  1. Our puzzle pieces are weaved and intertwined into the puzzled landscapes of others lives as well.

The satisfaction that comes from looking at an almost completed puzzle brings excitement and determination to see it through to completion.

God’s indwelt determination, courage and perseverance makes the road to completing the puzzle more doable and enjoyable. Thanks for the the “life’s puzzle” insight today.
