Risky Business

Life with God is risky business. Why do I say that? It’s risky because God is a lover of new beginnings and new seasons. He is the ultimate risk taker. Think of the risk it took to create the world. You might be thinking that I am making strange assumptions..after all we are talking about God..the God who knows everything all the time. You are right..He does know the end of every story. But He doesn’t play it safe. If He did I don’t believe He would have given us free will. He could have made us differently so that we did not have the choices we now face.

He could have made a world that was always safe..no danger or trouble. He chose not to. Life would not be an adventure if there were not risks. The giver of life knew that He had to give us freedom so we could life the abundant life. Not all choices are life changing but some are. Some are going to affect us in huge ways.. and those around us. What do we do when we are faced with a critical choice? Well.. we choose life.

What does that mean? It means we take the risk..we choose the road less traveled..we go forward as God leads no matter what..we leave people, places, and ideas behind. We walk with God. We do not choose to be afraid..yes choose. We always have that choice. The enemy uses fear to keep us from leaping off the cliff. He says.. “God won’t be there for you.” We have all heard story after story of God’s faithfulness.. yet somehow we are vulnerable to the idea that God will come through for others but not for us.. another lie that keeps us from living fully.

He will be there for you when you need Him. You are not alone. He is with you and He will never leave you. Do you have a choice to make that may change your life and the life of those around you? Is He calling you? Take the leap.. you will never regret it.. live the life you have always wanted!

“The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”
