The Day After Pentecost

Yesterday we found out that we have a new grandchild on the way. This morning we found out that my husband’s mother passed away. God is moving and when He moves all kinds of things happen. The wind of the Holy Spirit blows through our lives and there is change. Change that lifts our spirits and change that challenges us to keep trusting. Yesterday was Pentecost and the winds of change were blowing through our valley so strongly that we had to move all the plants on our deck to keep them from being ripped to shreds.

The early church experienced a mighty wind when the Holy Spirit first visited them. Not a slight breeze but a violent wind filled with power. Today that same Spirit moves through the earth.. He is with us as the encourager, the helper, the comforter, the one who moves in and enables us to survive all the challenges we face here. He is the voice of God to us.. the one who whispers truth to us. He is the on who meets us in times of confusion.. He is with us and He knows us.

We need the Holy Spirit every moment of every day. We need the wisdom that He imparts to us and we need the comfort that brings to us. He is a gift to us.. God’s presence with us.. As you travel on your journey.. remember that you have all you need in Him. Our life is designed to be lived in a way that causes us to cling to Him and to return to Him time and time again.

“On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm and it filled the house where they were sitting. .. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit.”
